Hospital-Based Violence

Intervention Program

The Safe Harbor Hospital-Based Violence Intervention Program (HVIP) is a collaboration with the Division of Trauma, the Department of Emergency Medicine, the Department of Social Work, and our community partner, Southern California Crossroads. Safe Harbor HVIP provides wraparound services for victims of interpersonal violence through intensive, post-injury case management. Such services include tattoo removal, mental health counseling, job training and placement, relocation aid, application for victims of crime compensation, and positive mentorship. Our goal is to promote the growth and wellbeing of our clients while addressing the social determinants of health and structural barriers that may be present in their lives.
